Neck pain

Seven small bones, one heavy head.

Your neck (the cervical spine) supports a head that weighs about 12 pounds, and moves it in almost every direction.

That flexibility is exactly why the neck is so easy to strain. Long hours sitting, repeated movements, accidents, falls, blows to the head or body, aging and everyday wear and tear all affect it.

The neck adjustment

A neck adjustment (cervical manipulation) is a precise movement applied to the joints of the neck, usually by hand. The aim is a neck that moves more freely: easier turning and tilting, with less soreness and stiffness.

More than one tool

Your program may combine more than one type of care: adjustments, mobilization, massage and rehabilitation exercises. Neck pain often starts lower down, in the upper or mid back, so we look there too.
